The GRIT awards are held annually to honor one male and one female athlete that displays each of the following qualities throughout their training year. These qualities are important aspects of successful athletes and successful individuals in life after sports. Each year the winners are displayed on banners hanging in the gym for future athletes to aspire to become.

Emily

2022 - JACK FOY

As a strong leader for his Junior Canes travel team, Jack has worked hard all off season and not missed a beat in season to continue to improve year round. He has been a leader both in the gym and on the ice as he continues to develop himself and his teammates.

2022 - SKY DONAIE

2021 - GRANT GULLEDGE

Playing for both Heritage High and the Carolina Flames, Sky has a packed schedule and continues to make training a priority as she prepares for the next level. Her consistency in the gym has brought tremendous improvements.

Grant lost over 30lbs in the first 6 months at EBA, staying dedicated to the gym. Getting in shape to take care of his young daughter and stay competitive on the golf course, his hard work has paid off.

2021 - EMILY PETERSON

Lead the NCSU women's hockey team to an ACC title and individual award of ACC MVP while interning and training with her team here at EBA. As a leader on and off the ice, Emily consistently shows up and puts in the work.

2022 - BRAYDEN RIVENBARK

2021 - PARKS OWENSBY

2021 - OLIVIA MASON

Coming back from several lacrosse related injuries, Meredith played through the 2022 season in a hard cast and finished the season as the USA South Defensive Player of the Year.  She is relentless in her training  and continues to push herself and teammates.

Overcoming ankle injuries and later a broken collarbone, Brayden competes in both football and basketball at Leesville high and continues to find a way to not let any of his set backs hold him back. His positive attitude is unmatched.

Battling the complicated seasons of Covid, Parks prepared for pro hockey diligently. Hardly ever missing a workout he has had the opportunity to continually improve and prepare for the next level.

Maintaining a consistent work ethic through sport-related injuries and instilling trust in the rehab process throughout. Olivia is a great example of tenacity in and out of the gym.

2022 - SCOUT MASON

Scout is one of the original members of EBA and has constantly found ways to give back to his community and support those around him. Both in Raleigh and in MN. at school Scout is always involved in helping gothers.

2022 - VERONICA HEYL

V finished her hockey career as a leader of the ACC championship hockey team and has been giving back to the women's youth hockey organizations by coaching and volunteering ever since. A strong role model and example for others

Luke

2021 - LUKE WALLACE

As a leader on his team, Luke continues to show up and work hard towards his future goals and dreams. In and out of the gym Luke finds a way to put in the work and accomplish his goals

2021 - LISA JACKSON

Lisa began working with Erin as she made a run at the US National Rugby team and became a Pool Player for them. She is one of the most respected rugby players in Raleigh and a leader in the Raleigh Rugby scene.
